About Me!

Hi, I’m Niloufar, a Toronto-based designer who’s all about living life creatively. With a Bachelor’s in Graphic Design and a Master’s in Costume Design, I’m currently digging into Fashion Studies. During the day, you’ll find me crafting eye-catching graphics. At night, I’m sketching out my next fashion pieces. I’m passionate about telling stories through design, whether on a screen or stitched into fabric. Beyond design, I’m into semiotics, history, mythology, and fashion theory – they’re my fuel for creativity.

I’m a designer witch, brewing up creativity. Join me on a journey where we blend style, history, and boundless imagination. Let’s make some magic together!

My Story

From as early as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to the world of creation. At just 4 or 5 years old, I was already sketching designs for my dolls and bringing them to life with needle and thread. Growing up, I was fortunate to learn the art of sewing from my mom, who passed down her skills learned from generations before her. Even before my school days, I found joy in styling my mom’s and every woman in our family’s clothes, strutting in front of the mirror, imagining myself on the runway showcasing my designs. Throughout school, my passion for painting and all things creative only grew stronger, cementing my path as a designer from an early age.

Creativity

It’s about seeing the world with fresh eyes, finding inspiration in the mundane, and daring to explore the unknown. It’s about embracing curiosity, taking risks, and allowing yourself the freedom to fail. Because in the end, it’s the journey of seeing, experiencing, and nurturing creativity that leads to the most beautiful discoveries.

Research

To me, research is the backbone of making and it’s about diving deep into the past, understanding the present, and envisioning the future. From studying historical fashion trends to exploring cutting-edge technologies, research provides the insights needed to create with purpose and precision.

Design

Whether I’m crafting a graphic, or sewing a garment, design is the language I use to express myself and connect with others. It’s the intersection of creativity and strategy, where every line, colour, and texture serves a purpose. Design is my tool for making the world a more beautiful, functional, and meaningful place.
